Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives Philip Gunn appointed Casey Eure (R-District 116, Harrison County) as Chair of the House Gaming Committee. The vacancy in the Chair position occurred when Richard Bennett, previous Chair of the House Gaming Committee, was appointed by the Speaker as Chair of the House Education Committee, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Education Committee’s previous chairman.
Eure, self-employed as the owner of Eure Properties, is a graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi Law Enforcement Academy. He has previously served on the House Gaming Committee, along with Marine Resources (Chair), Appropriations, Banking and Financial Services, Conservation and Water Resources, Public Utilities and Tourism.
Representative Eure is a member of the National Rifle Association, Coast Young Professionals, Harrison County Republican Club and Woolmarket Little League Association. He was previously affiliated with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Mississippi Public Service Commission.
He was born March 1, 1978 in Jackson, Mississippi. He is a resident of Saucier and is married to the former Jill Gary. They have two children, Kennedy and Gunner. He is of the Catholic faith.
